National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
The NANB Office will be closed on September 30 to demonstrate our commitment to fostering greater awareness, understanding and respect with Indigenous communities to build a better future for all. At NANB, we want to take this moment to reflect on the tragic history and the inter-generational impacts of residential schools and honour the children who never returned home, survivors, their families, and communities. As the regulator of the nursing profession in New Brunswick, NANB is committed to dismantle and eradicate Indigenous-specific racism that persists in the health-care system, challenge misconceptions and biases, and ensure that Indigenous people receive anti-racist, culturally safe, equitable, and timely care.
