Consent Agreement
In a decision dated February 10, 2025, a panel of the NANB Complaints Committee accepted a Consent Agreement between NANB and Daniel Rumaja (Registration Number 035181). Mr. Rumaja admitted to incorrectly telling a physician that a resident was not ordered a certain medication, taking a resident’s Nitro Spray and administering it to another resident, incorrectly telling a physician that there was Nitro Spray in the “Stat box” of the nursing home, and communicating in a tone and approach that could have been perceived as disrespectful to his coworkers. Mr. Rumaja admitted that the complaint also raised additional issues, including poor documentation and medication administration practices.
Mr. Rumaja has voluntarily agreed to the following conditions on his registration:
- Remedial education related to professional communication, medication management, and documentation in nursing;
- Performance evaluations from his employer(s) from the date of the Complaints Committee Decision;
- Supervision by a Registered Nurse or a Nurse Practitioner for the first 900 practice hours from the date of the Complaints Committee Decision;
- Not working independently as a self-employed Registered Nurse or in a supervisory role;
- Providing each employer and regulatory body with which he is registered with a copy of the Consent Agreement and Complaints Committee’s decision and advising NANB of any change in address or employer.
