Conditions Imposed, Suspension Lifted

In a decision dated January 24, 2025, a panel of the NANB Fitness to Practice (Review) Committee accepted an Alternate Complaint Resolution Proposal (“ACRP”) between NANB and the Registrant. The Registrant admitted to planning to attempt suicide at work and bringing the necessary material to their employer’s premises. The Registrant admitted that at that time, their mental health made them unfit and unable to practise nursing safely. The NANB Fitness to Practice (Review) Committee accepted medical evidence that the Registrant is now fit to practice and ordered that the suspension imposed on the Registrant by the Complaints Committee be lifted and conditions be imposed on the Registrant’s registration.

The Registrant has voluntarily agreed to the following conditions on their practice:

  1. Remedial education related to ethics in nursing;
  2. Performance evaluations from their employer(s) from the date of their return to the active practice of nursing;
  3. Refrain from working more than 100 hours per month and refrain from working overtime;
  4. Continue to receive medical treatments and counselling;
  5. Submit written reports from health care professionals treating and counselling the Registrant;
  6. Shall not work independently as a self-employed Registered Nurse and shall not work in a supervisory role;
  7. Provide their employers with a copy of the Fitness to Practice (Review) Committee’s decision and order and advise NANB of any change in address or employer.
