Mandatory Registration and Use of the PMP
Effective August 31, 2026, all prescribers are required to register to the new PMP, MaveRxNB (pronounced “Mavericks NB”), and review the information in the PMP before prescribing or dispensing monitored drugs for a patient. Prescribers include physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, optometrists, podiatrists, midwives, and pharmacists.
EHR Users
The Electronic Health Record (EHR) is being updated to include access to the new PMP, MaveRx NB, that was provincially launched in July 2024. The old PMP screen currently found in the EHR is not actively maintained but is available to use during the transition. Effective October 30, 2025, the screen will be replaced by a pop-up window that will automatically direct you to the new PMP, MaveRx. Please ensure that you allow pop-ups in your browser.
Intrahealth EMR Users
Existing MaveRx users can now access the PMP using a button on the Intrahealth EMR toolbar. The button provides a pop-up window that automatically directs you to the new PMP. For instructions on how to add the button to your toolbar, please contact the PMP support team.
MaveRx Registration and Training
Access to the new PMP requires users to register into the system. To register, enroll in training, or learn more about the new PMP, please contact the PMP support team at pmp.psp@gnb.ca
