This section is for Canadian registered nurses who have ACTIVE RN LICENSURE in a Canadian home jurisdiction outside of New Brunswick, and who want to apply to NANB as a HOST JURISDICTION.

Home jurisdiction is the jurisdiction where you provide nursing services most often. Host jurisdiction is a jurisdiction where you provide nursing services as a visitor or occasional provider.

Step 1: NANB Profile

Create your NANB profile online and follow the steps.

Step 2: Out-of-Province Application

Complete the Inter-Jurisdiction application form on your NANB profile and pay the applicable fees.

Step 3: Legal Name

Submit proof of your legal name (valid Canadian ID) during the completion of your online application.

If you are submitting documents in a different name (e.g., transcripts, verifications from other regulatory bodies, etc.), you must provide documentation to support the name change (e.g., marriage certificate or name change certificate), which can be done while completing your application.

Note: Within 1–2 business days of receipt of the documents requested in steps 1–3 you will then be instructed on how to obtain your registration certificate. Please see Fee Schedule.

Within 30 days of obtaining registration, you must then follow the steps below.

Step 4: Jurisprudence Module

Complete the Jurisprudence E-learning found on your NANB profile and notify us by email once complete. Please email nanbregistration@nanb.nb.ca.

Step 5: Criminal Record Check

Submit a current criminal record check through CSI Screening.

This can be done by visiting www.csiscreening.com, and completing the Canadian Criminal Record Check. Please indicate “NANB” as the company. This must be sent directly from CSI to nanbregistration@nanb.nb.ca.
For criminal record checks from other sources such as the local police or RCMP, NANB requires the original stamped copy be sent to us by mail at 165 Regent Street, Fredericton NB, E3B 7B4.
Criminal record checks are valid for six months from the date of issue.

Note: Your registration will be issued with the condition that steps 4-5 are complete within 30 days of becoming registered. Failure to complete these requirements will result in your registration becoming invalid.

Ensure that you list everywhere you are currently registered in the Confirmation of Active Registration section of your online application, as this will ensure your application is processed without delay.

Note: that NANB may still request verification of registration documents at the Registrar’s discretion.
